SOLIGEN ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENTS OF NEW SALES AND MANUFACTURING EXECUTIVES
NORTHRIDGE, CA--May 18, 2000 - Soligen Technologies, Inc. (OTC BB:SGTN), a rapid manufacturer of complex metal parts using proprietary technology, today announced two new executive appointments -- Gary Kanegis as Sales Vice President and Robert Davidson as Vice President of Manufacturing Santa Ana Division.
Mr. Kanegis joins Soligen following a 15-year successful sales and product marketing career with Key Technology (NasdaqNM:KTEC), of Walla Walla, WA. Mr. Davidson brings to Soligen tremendous amount of knowledge and experience in the foundry industry. In the last twenty years he was plant manager, operations manager and engineering manager at Baja Pacific Light Metal Corp., and Western Wheel Corporation both of La Mirada, CA.
"We are delighted to have such experienced individuals as Gary and Robert join our team," said Yehoram Uziel, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Soligen. "Gary has a proven track record in creating and leading sales teams and developing value-added and solution-creating sales. Robert has a proven track record in establishing and running first class aluminum foundry operations that served the automotive OEM. I believe that Gary and Robert will be instrumental in taking Soligen to the next level"
Mr. Kanegis's technical background is in engineering and strategic marketing, and also in developing and marketing capital equipment for automated industrial inspection systems. As sales vice president Gary presided over a sales team that has generated sales of multi-million dollar programs.
Mr. Davidson will manage the Soligen foundry and machine shop operations at Santa Ana, CA. His valuable experience in making automotive parts at Baja Pacific Light Metal Corp., Western Wheel Corp., and at Hayes-Albion Corp., for some of Soligen's more prominent customers will enable Soligen to better serve our customer needs for full programs.
Soligen is able to rapidly manufacture cast metal parts, bypassing the traditional need for tooling, by employing Soligen's DSPC® technology. The DSPC technology is a proprietary fabrication process for metal parts that produces ceramic molds for metal castings directly from a CAD file. Consequently, it enables postponement of design and the fabrication of expensive and time consuming casting tooling until after the parts are functionally tested, thus increasing the probability of making production tooling once and correctly on the first attempt. Additionally, Soligen rapidly produces production tooling for larger runs of metal castings from the same CAD file as the approved part. By combining three key production elements: DSPC® technology, conventional casting methods, and Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) machining practices, the Company has created the first "one stop shop" for functional metal parts that are made directly from a CAD file and that are ready for assembly. This complete service, trademarked as Parts Now®, has become a single source for rapidly manufactured metal parts.
DSPC® and Parts Now® are registered trademarks of Soligen.
