SOLIGEN PRODUCES CAST ALUMINUM PARTS FOR GM'S DELCO SYSTEMS IN RECORD TIME
-- Production time slashed to 4 weeks from 14 --

NORTHRIDGE, CA, March 11, 1996 -- Soligen Technologies, Inc. (AMEX:SGT.EC) announced today that Soligen's Parts Now unit has manufactured 12 cast aluminum transmission housing for Hughes Delco Systems Operation, a subsidiary of Hughes Aircraft Company, within four weeks of receiving the design. "By utilizing Soligen's proprietary DSPC technology, these parts were made directly from Delco Systems' CAD file, eliminating the need for patterns or production tooling," said Yehoram Uziel, President and CEO of Soligen.

"At Soligen, we utilize our DSPC technology to speed up the manufacturing cycle while preserving quality," explained Mr. Uziel. "Delco Systems presented Soligen with a real challenge. In this case, their best alternative production schedule would have been 12 to 14 weeks. But Delco Systems needed the parts in no later than 4 weeks." Four weeks after submitting the CAD design, all the transmission cases were approved by Delco Systems' quality team.

"Soligen's Part Now unit delivered these functional cast housings to Delco Systems faster than any traditional casting method, or even any rapid prototyping method would have allowed," said Mr. Uziel. "For most of our customers reducing the production schedule from 14 weeks to 4 weeks can provide an important competitive edge."

Soligen is building production capacity to become the premier one-stop-shop for functional cast metal parts produced directly from a CAD file, and with no need for pre-fabricated tooling to produce the first article. "I am convinced that Parts Now enables concurrent engineering to shift from theory to practice," concluded Mr. Uziel.

Soligen's DSPC technology is a proprietary fabrication process for metal parts and tooling that produces ceramic molds for metal casting directly from a CAD file. Soligen's DSPC is based on Three Dimensional Printing (3DP), a technology invented and patented by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). 3DP is licensed exclusively to Soligen on a worldwide basis for the field of metal casting. DSPC and Parts Now are registered trade marks of Soligen.
